Centennial Academy has a unique and inspiring definition of a "legend" that builds upon the traditional understanding of the term.
What it Means to be a Legend Based on Centennial Academy's Belief:
Centennial Academy takes the concept of a legend and applies it to its own scholars, embodying a forward-looking vision. They state, "HEROES TODAY. LEGENDS TOMORROW!" and define it clearly:
- A Legend is an alum of Centennial Academy. This immediately grounds the concept in their educational journey and the long-term impact of their schooling.
- A legend "epitomizes our vision of graduating scholars who are high achievers, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and ethical leaders in a global society." This highlights the core qualities and values Centennial Academy aims to instill in its students.
- Centennial Academy's belief about their Heroes (scholars) is that "There is no limit to how far a child can go when they are enveloped in a culture of vision, courage, and discovery. This is the kind of culture that produces everyday heroes, citizens who are not just smart but also brave and kind." They explicitly state, "Centennial Academy is the place where we value children as a hero today because we are preparing scholars to become the legends of tomorrow."
To be a Centennial Academy Legend signifies:
- Long-term impact: It's about their alumni continuing to embody the academy's values and make a positive difference in the world after graduation.
- Embodiment of core values: Legends are individuals who consistently demonstrate high achievement, critical thinking, a commitment to lifelong learning, and ethical leadership.
- Inspiration and influence: Their journey and accomplishments serve as an inspiration to others, particularly future generations of Centennial Academy scholars.
- A natural progression from being a "Hero": The "Heroes" are the scholars in the present, developing the qualities that will allow them to become "legends" in the future. Their current helpfulness, engagement, responsibility, and open-mindedness (the characteristics of a HERO) are the building blocks of their future legendary status.
Centennial Academy sees our "legends" as a testament to the success of Centennial's educational approach, producing individuals who not only achieve personal success but also contribute meaningfully to society, living out the school's vision.

Centennial Academy Celebrates Alumni Success with "Centennial to College" Scholarships
ATLANTA, GA – June 7, 2025 – Centennial Academy proudly announces the inaugural "Centennial to College" event, where the institution awarded $1,000 scholarships to 20 distinguished alumni from the 2021 graduating 8th-grade class. These deserving recipients, affectionately known as "Legends," have now successfully graduated from high school and are embarking on their post-secondary journeys.
The scholarships are specifically designed to provide crucial financial assistance, helping to alleviate expenses such as textbooks, course materials, and other essential fees associated with higher education or vocational training. This initiative underscores Centennial Academy's unwavering commitment to fostering long-term success and supporting its students beyond their foundational years.

2024 Recipients
A Legend is an alum of Centennial Academy and epitomizes our vision of graduating scholars who are high achievers, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and ethical leaders in a global society.
Centennial Academy recently awarded 17 alumni (Legends) from its 2019 graduating 8th-grade class with $1,000 scholarships to assist with books and other post-secondary associated fees. Each awardee is a 2023 high school graduate and will continue their education through an undergraduate degree program or certification from an accredited college, university, or technical school. In order to receive the award, scholarship recipients completed an application, submitted personal essays.
We are honored to give back to scholars from our 2019 Legends Class as a part of our commitment to the Centennial to College Continuum. Unlike traditional K-8 schools, we are invested in the lives of our graduates throughout high school, college, and beyond. In its third year of the program, Centennial Academy will continue to award future graduates with scholarships on an annual basis.
