Greetings Centennial Academy Families,
Welcome back! We do hope that you had a restful Thanksgiving break, filled with tons of love from friends and family, and PLENTY of good food. We are excited to welcome our scholars back to the halls of Centennial Academy!
As usual, this newsletter is jam packed with tons of information so please peruse it. I'll just lift a few updates that should stand out from the rest.
First, thank you for all the families who have successfully transitioned to CA's Virtual Academy! I've seen great things happening in virtual classrooms and am so happy that this initiative has been beneficial for many families.
We are also hearing that for other families, this change might have not actually been the best change! We hear you and we totally understand, but unfortunately, we are actually beyond building capacity for many of our grade levels.
If your scholar is virtual and would like to be considered for an in-person space starting in January 2022, please complete this form to be added to the waitlist.
Remember, the health and well-being of our scholars and staff is our number one priority, so we will continue to have appropriate class sizes! You will receive official notification via email if we are able to accommodate your request. Please complete this form even if you have previously expressed an interest in in-person instruction. This will be the documentation used to make any changes.
Second, as the cool weather continues to roll in, we are noticing that many scholars are misplacing their jackets. Please be sure to label your child's coat/jackets and encourage them to be responsible for keeping up with their belongings.
We have not launched our official Lost and Found closet just yet, so most missing items should still be in the scholar's classrooms. (If you wish to volunteer for that opportunity, please let us know!). While we understand the frustration that comes along with scholars misplacing belongings, we cannot and will not reimburse families for missing items.
Lastly, this week our scholars will start their mid-year benchmark assessments! We do hope that all scholars participated in our iReady Turkey Bowl over break (and winners will be announced soon). As your scholar prepares to take the iReady assessment this week, please encourage them to get tons of rest and to take the assessment seriously. We expect to see tremendous growth and we will be using the assessment data to inform our instructional planning for Quarter 3.
As noted earlier, please check out the other updates included in this bulletin! There's a ton of great information included as the month of December will be BUSY for us here at Centennial!
Heroes Today. Legends Tomorrow!
