Our Legends
A Legend is an alum of Centennial Academy and epitomizes our vision of graduating scholars who are high achievers, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and ethical leaders in a global society.
Centennial Academy recently awarded 24 alumni (Legends) from its 2018 graduating 8th-grade class with $1,000 scholarships to assist with books and other post-secondary associated fees.
Each awardee is a 2022 high school graduate and will continue their education through an undergraduate degree program or certification from an accredited college, university, or technical school. In order to receive the award, scholarship recipients completed an application, submitted personal essays, and participated in an interview.
"We are honored to give back to scholars from our 2018 Legends Class as a part of our commitment to the Centennial to College Continuum. Unlike traditional K-8 schools, we are invested in the lives of our graduates throughout high school, college, and beyond. These scholarship recipients have worked extremely hard and embody what it means to be high achievers, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and ethical leaders in a global society." - Tequila Lamar, former Head of School
In its second year of the program, Centennial Academy will continue to award future graduates with scholarships on an annual basis.
"Centennial taught me to be a leader at all times and to make sure you're doing the right thing. My time there also taught me to persevere at all times and ask questions, even if it's hard. My teachers kept telling me, 'Ask questions, ask questions, ask questions!' and I'm not afraid to ask questions now." - Kamyra, 2018 Centennial Academy Legend
