School News

Intersession Week is October 2nd - 6th. Only registered scholars who bring their Intersession Admission Ticket will be allowed to attend. For unregistered scholars, we wish you an enjoyable 2-week break. See you back October 16th!
Intersession Dismissal - Parents should pick up scholars at their normal pickup locations during dismissal. First - Fourth Grade in the Yellow Zone located in the front of the building. Kindergarten and Grades 5th-8th will be picked up in the Blue Zone located in the rear of the building. Silent Dismissal numbers will not be used.
Centennial Sweatshirts - The new Centennial Academy Sweatshirts are available for purchase in the main office!
Uniform Orders - Centennial Academy is selling white dress shirts and gray ties for Leadership Day. If you would like to purchase a shirt and/or tie, please complete the Order Form and return to school with payment. You may pay with cash, check, credit card, or on-line. If you have any additional questions, please contact Dr. Stinson, astinson@centennialacademycharter.org.
School Picture Retake Day - LifeTouch will return to campus on Thursday, October 19 for School Picture Retakes. The Yearbook Committee is requesting that everyone follows the attire requirements below:
- Picture Day for Scholars
  - 8th Grade: Blazer, White Collar Shirt, and Tie
  - 6th and 7th Grade: Black Polo Shirt
  - Kindergarten - 5th Grade: White Uniform Shirt (Polo or Collar)

Academic Affairs

Quarter 1 Ends Friday, September 29th - We encourage all parents and scholars to access Infinite Campus to review your current grades. This is a great way to review your scholar's current progress and work completion for this portion of the school year.
Common Assessment Period begins Thursday, October 19th through Tuesday, October 24th - Please assist your scholar over the next two weeks (Intersession & Fall Break) by reviewing all of the content, skills and knowledge they have studied in all of their courses for the first quarter. Teachers are hard at work constructing high-quality Common Assessments that will be administered the Thursday we return from Fall Break. Please Note: Common Assessments are Summative Assessments that count for 40% of your scholar's overall grade (excluding Algebra I, High School Spanish, and Connections).
Parent Teacher Conference Period is from September 18th - November 3rd - Please look to receive correspondence from your scholar's teacher about arranging a face-to-face parent-teacher conference time. This is a great opportunity to hear about your scholar's progress from his/her teacher.

Student Life

Cell Phone / Dismissal - Scholar cell phone usage is not allowed on campus especially during dismissal. Families should pre-arrange dismissal procedures or communicate directly with school personnel regarding dismissal changes. Dismissal is delayed / disrupted for all when just a few deviate from the procedures.

Advancement

The next Centennial Academy Board Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 5:30 pm in the Innovation Lab. This is a public meeting and open to all Centennial Academy Community Members.
